I spent a significant amount of time in the North West. I gotta love Dar Williams.

Dar is incredible. I've seen her live like five times and she's always amazing...and she's kind of nerdy, which I appreciate. Plus, we share the inability to play a full-sized guitar due to small hands. :-)

She's been about 60% of the soundtrack to my life for the last decade. I once entitled a mix of her music "Just some of the reasons I would have Dar Williams' children if it were biologically possible...oh, wait! I could be her surrogate!"

Also, I love your brain.

It's just a sign of my insanity. Not really something to be jealous of. :-)

Besides, which one of us is in Germany right now? Yeah. Thought so!

What's the German equivalent for that?

Also, what is the German for "Well, at least we're not Schalke."?

The literal version is angeschlagen....but i'm 99% sure that's just an actual fencing term and Germans also say "touché" in that context. I also say "stimmt" (short for "das stimmt"/"that's correct/true") a lot, which I stole from my Bavarians.

Hahaha, "Na, zumindest sind wir nicht Schalke". There might be a more idiomatic version, but that's all I come up.
